Functions

The functions in Carewatch and in the system are a combination of sensors and algorithms in Carewatch as well as algorithms in our back-end. Some processes take place in the clock and others in the back-end.

Manual alarm

Image
As it sounds. The user manually raises the alarm with the buttons that trigger an activity in the staff app and the administrator's user interface with or without position. Unique (as far as we know) is that the alarm is stored in the watch until it is confirmed received by the system, which normally takes a few seconds. If there is no coverage, the alarm is sent when communication is available. When the alarm has been accepted by staff, the user receives a message in plain text to the watch with sound and vibration.

Benefit : When the user receives feedback that the alarm has been sent, the individual's stress is reduced.

Indoor positioning

Image
In cases where an alarm is activated and the individual is in the defined indoor zone, the alarm is supplemented with position (example "Fall alarm - Dining room"). The individual's position is continuously updated. By default it is not possible to see the individual's position without a prior alarm for reasons of privacy. The event is stored in the log but not with the positions, which are anonymized once they have served their purpose.

Benefit: With information about the location of the user who raised the alarm (active/passive) the time for action is reduced.

Outdoor position

Image
In cases where an alarm is activated and the individual is outside the defined indoor zone, the alarm is supplemented with an outdoor position (GPS). The staff can see the individual's position on a map, which is updated continuously. By default it is not possible to see the individual's position without a prior alarm for reasons of privacy. The event is stored in the log but not with the positions, which are anonymized once they have served their purpose.
Benefit: With information about the location of the user who raised the alarm (active/passive) the time for action is reduced. Sometimes also a prerequisite for locating the user.

Geofence

Image

You define one or more geographically permitted zones with time limitations. If the individual deviates from the zone, an alarm goes off automatically. If the individual re-enters the permitted zone before the staff have attended the alarm, the alarm is automatically cancelled. The alarm as an event is logged in both cases for possible follow-up and analysis. However, the positions are not logged due to the individual's privacy.
You can enter several conditions for the alarm. The conditions can be built up with different geographical areas for different time periods and different days of the week.

Benefit: Provides increased opportunities for freedom of movement for the user. The user experiences increased security and dares to increase their movement, and the staff can feel secure that the individual will not disappear.

Fall detection alarm

Image
The fall detection alarm is developed specifically for elderly as their movement patterns in general deviate from the average individual. It provides higher reliability of the alarms. The sensitivity can be set on an individual level and sent to the watch OTA.

Heart rate

Image
Heart rate is the basis for many analyzes not only as an stand alone value. We also use the pulse measurement in the device together with other sensors to create algorithms that give you more options for alarms and analyses. Pulse as an alarm can be used by the care units and pulse as a statistical value over time is interesting for the health care units.

SIW-Indicator (Only none EU-countries)

Image
Carewatch sends a warning (SIW indication) if the individual is likely to have an infection in the body such as Covid-19, seasonal flu, etc. This indication comes on average 3-4 days before symptoms in the case of Covid-19 and 2 days before in the case of seasonal flu. The studies regarding Covid-19 were carried out between the summer of 2020 and the summer of 2021 and different variants of Covid-19 can variate in the time before the symptom.

Benefit: : As the indication happens earlier than symptoms, it is possible to prevent the spread of infection in, for example, a nursing home. (FHM 220130: The contagiousness of covid-19 is probably greatest in connection with the illness and at the beginning of the course of the disease.)

Blood pressure

Image

With continuous blood pressure measurement and follow-up, many health risks can be prevented and analyzed over time.
The blood pressure monitor is not personal. You take a device that is at hand and perform the measurement on the individual. The meter is connected with the individual's Carewatch by placing the watch against the sticker bearing our logo. If you already have meters of models we support, you can use these supplemented with our sticker.

Calorie counter

Image
With the calorie counter, the individual's exercise is calculated taking into account parameters other than just movement.

Benefit : With information about the individual's exercise over time, you can see if exercise is carried out and analyze the effect of care plan. Depending on the desired analysis, this may be better or worse than step counting. If the individual's weight decreases during the measurement period (thanks to exercise?), the result will look less effective. The same results can provide a better basis for increasing efforts with exercise as the individual gets less exercise from the same amount of movement at weight loss.

HRV (Heart rate variation)

Image
In the normal state, an individual has a variation in the time between pulses, even if the number of pulses per minute is stable. In a stressful situation, this variation decreases. This can be used as an alarm to call attention that a person is in a state of stress as well as part of a care plan to analyze what makes the individual stressed. Is there a pattern in time or place? The benefit becomes even more obvious when the individual himself has difficulty communicating his situation.

Task (Staff)

Image

As an administrator, you can send out an activity that ends up in the flow (similar to other alarms/activities). The staff receives (accepts) and Marks/acknowledges attendance. Sender appears in the message to ensure that it is an authorized person who created the activity. Example: Give xx medication today at 09.00 pm/ Regards Laura Smith.
You don't have to look for free staff and you also get the advantage of traceability from creation to execution . You can send the task to a group and whoever is free can carry out the activity. The task is only visible to authorized personnel with feedback to authorized personnel. Execution personnel also see the position of the individual where applicable.

Door sensor

Dörrsensor
Door sensor is not really a door sensor but something better. You specify a location that can be at a door and define it as an alarm if the individual is on the wrong side at the wrong time. This means that you will also not receive false alarms if an authorized person opens the door.

Zone alarm

Dörrsensor
You specify a location that can be at a door and define it as an alarm if the individual is on the wrong side at the wrong time. For us, the function is the same as "door sensor", but as previous technology had to make different installations for each function, both terms appear (which we solve in the same way). As the technology enables implementation at low costs, there are opportunities for increased openness.

Digital key (Residential)

Image
You can connect electronic keys to the individual to open electronic locks for home care recipients. The key is only available in the app when a bet is accepted and with that you automatically get traceability. The function is not visible from the outside of the door and thus does not reveal that there is an individual with a need for assistance living in the home.

Digital key (Nursing home)

Image
Keys for RFID locks also called "hotel locks". The staff and users have a digital key (tag, nuddis, plupp) that opens the door. A lot of time saving for the staff who don't have to pick up the apartment key or carry "thirty-eleven keys" with them. For security reasons, a mobile phone with an app cannot act as a key, but the mobile phone can transfer digital keys to, for example, SITHS cards.
